Chirurgical management of corneal ulcers in domestic carnivores.

The next Cornée workshop will be held at the ENVT on December 7 and 9, 2023, in partnership with the ophthalmology service of Dr Jean-Yves DOUET.

The training addresses the place of surgery in the therapeutic management of corneal ulcer in domestic carnivores and allows participants to handle a number of biomaterials during practical work.

Objectifs:

1. Theoretical and practical acquisition of the chirurgical treatment of corneal ulcers in domestic carnivores.
2. Acquisition of rational choice of techniques (autogreffe and xenogreffe)
3. Acquisition of different surgical techniques on porcine yeux.
4. Acquisition of the principles and implementation of corneal cross-linking (optional module)

14h45 – Practical work: realization of a corneal greffe of small lyophilized biomaterial (porc intestinal vesicular or subcutaneous matrix, human amniotic membrane) on porc eyes.

16h30 – Practical work: realization of a corneal greffe of an opaque lyophilized biomaterial (bovine pericarp, human umbilical cord) on pig eyes.
